Several PowerWindow+ prototypes have recently been installed for testing at ACCIONA’s Test Cell, inSeville, with great success. The electrical, thermal, light and constructive behaviour of the transparent photovoltaic windows will be monitored during six month period and compared to equivalent non-photovoltaics windows.
The solar windows, with c-Si and CIGS photovoltaics cells, have been developed and manufactured by PHYSEE and SUNPLUGGED, in the framework of SolarWin EU project headed by IREC. ACCIONA’s Test Cell is an experimental building prepared for the fully testing of roof and facade building elements and systems under real operating condition. A new Solar-Win demo-system integrated in a real building will be implemented and tested in 2021.
